Pioneers’ senior Jaron Miller rolled a 687 series at the Central District tournament Saturday at HP Lanes and finished second to earn a spot in this week’s state championship tournament.

Miller’s three-game total came in behind only Newark’s Austin Martin (728).

Alder as a team finished a disappointing fourth (3,872), one spot out of qualifying for the state as a team.

Madison-Plains’ Adam Hayes was 82nd (411) in the boys tournament, while fellow Golden Eagles’ teammate Amanda Dradt was 85th (368) in the girls tournament.
