Boy Scout Troop 873 in Plain City since 2002 has helped the VFW at Forest Grove Cemetery place flags on the Veterans’ graves. This year was no different.

One of the boys from the troop, Caleb Shae Shepard, joined the troop when he was in the sixth grade.

For a couple years we would pick the boys up at school and bring them out in the morning to place the flags. Caleb was always eager to help.

Even when we switched the placement of the flags Caleb was always there to help.

In 2009 Caleb dedicated the wreath during the Memorial Day Service at the cemetery.

In October 2010, Caleb had an accident at work and died. He is now buried at Forest Grove Cemetery.
