Relay for Life kickoff planned

Madison County residents are invited to Kick Off 2013 American Cancer Society Relay for Life of Madison County.

This year’s kick off will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 26, at the Madison County Senior Center, 280 W. High St., London.

An open format will be featured to accommodate everyone’s busy schedules. You are invited to come in and talk with the committee, ask questions and pick up team packets for those who are interested in having a Relay Team or would like to get involved with the committee.

All are welcome.

New this year at kick off, the relay is offering Relay 101 for new teams or those who are new to Relay for Life. Relay 101 will held from 7-7:30 p.m.

It will be lead by a former Relay chairperson and promises to be very informative.

Relay for Life is a community event that honors cancer survivors, current cancer patients and their caregivers.

Relay also pays tribute to those people who lost their battle with cancer.

This year’s American Cancer Society Relay for Life of Madison County will be held on June 14-15 at West Jefferson High School.

The American Cancer Society Relay for Life is an overnight community celebration where individuals and teams camp out, take turns walking the track to raise funds to fight cancer.
