The Plain City woman who was seriously injured in a one-car crash on Lafayette-Plain City Road late Sunday has died.

Katrina M. Gingerich, 24, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, Feb. 5, at Grant Medical Center.

Gingerich was northbound on Lafayette-Plain City Road at 11:43 p.m. when she lost control of the 2005 Ford Escape she was driving just north of the Taylor-Blair Road intersection, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The Escape ran off the right side of the road and overturned. Gingerich was thrown from the vehicle.

Donald Gordon, a passing motorist, spotted the overturned vehicle and Gingerich lying under a nearby tree. Gordon alerted authorities, and with the help of another Good Samaritan motorist, covered Gingerich with blankets until medical personnel arrived.
